Recording Session
I have been a musician for about 25 years….Being under 30, that’s all but a few years of my life. When I was 3, I found out my grandfather was a saxophone player, so I decided I would be. So I am.
Anyhoo, after playing for up to 8-10 hours a day in high school and college, it’s been difficult for me to balance practice time and actually making a living. Ok, I haven’t practiced in about 4 years….shameful. But, I find if I can maintain a level of not getting worse, playing is still a blast.
I did a quick session for my buddy Doug, who is the jazz studies dude at the University of Missouri-Columbia a couple of weeks ago. It was a ball, and we recorded a tune he wrote to feature the alto saxophone. I got to play the alto on the tune….Here’s the recording. Ignore me missing a chord tone here & there and enjoy. I think the tune is great, and my bro Doug is a bad-ass.

Nice playing Greg (and band). Wish you woulda went after that enclosure -> held note at the end of the melody a bit more, but intonation is a pain so I can understand.
